Social Media Mastery - What is your greatest weapon when it comes to social media? - Episode 6
Episode 6. Hope you had a fantastic week! :-)
Over the past seven days, my views and impressions had started to plateau - until I remembered one major trick to increase social media virality:
Storytelling.
Storytelling is undeniably the easiest and most effective way to grow your social media profile, yet not enough people are doing it regularly - including myself :-)
Why is storytelling so effective?
📌 Allows People To Connect + Relate – This is the secret sauce to successful social media pages. Share relatable stories about experiences in your life - or about other people’s lives - and you'll see a shift in your views.
📌 Captures Attention – A strong hook combined with a compelling story should be your go to strategy for any content you create. Without it, you’re making your life ten times harder.
📌 Easy Call To Action Potential – What on earth does this mean? If you tell a compelling story on an issue you faced, you can naturally introduce a product that was your solution. If people relate to your experience, they’re far more likely to buy. For example, there’s a major new makeup brand in the UK that’s currently thriving. The founder openly shares how she was bullied in school for her acne, which inspired her to create this makeup to help cover it. Viewers connected with her story - and as a result, they bought the product. This is storytelling that leads seamlessly into a call to action.
📌 Builds Brand Identity – You/your brand will be perceived as more trustworthy, if you share stories about any hardship you may have faced. This comes back to the first point, as people connect with your raw honesty and potentially even relate.
Some people say, they haven’t been through anything in their lives to even talk about.
Nonsense.
Everybody, and I mean everybody, has stories that other people can relate and connect to. Just be honest and authentic, and your audience will grow from there!
